Boorowa Darts Champion’s Crowned

Binalong Boozers are Premiers of Boorowa A Grade Darts 2026. From Left, Matt Pankhurst, Allan Pigram, Kieran Hearne, Jack Best and Adam Best.

A Stella night of Boorowa darts came to a sensational climax last Thursday night with three exciting Grand Finals played at the Boorowa Recreation Club.

The Binalong Boozers became back-to-back A Grade Champions when they defeated the Naughty Courty with a convincing 4-0 win in the best of seven contests. The Boozers were in scintillating form and never allowed the Courty to get into the game. The Courty had beaten the Boozers two weeks ago in the qualifying final but were never in the hunt in the big dance. For the Boozers, Jack Best threw two 140’s whilst Adam Best had a 121 whilst Graham Murray got four ton plus scores for the Courty.

The B Grade was a much tighter contest with the Binalong Broken Arrows winning 4-3 in a thriller to complete the double for Binalong. Down by 3-2, the Arrows rallied to take out the last two singles matches and claim the title. For the Arrows, Chris Hunt hit two tons, whilst Kylie Harrison posted a 117. Best for the Beavers was Dave Jansen with four Tons.

In the C-Grade, Muk Me Ram secured the title with a 4-2 victory. Down by 2-1 as they headed into singles matches, they won three straight matches to take the trophy. Starring for the Ram was Nat Blundell with a 114 whilst Brad Early scored a 134. For the Vader’s, youngster Mia Westaway showed she is a genuine star of the future with a neat 105.

There was a good roll up of supporters and as usual plenty of banter and friendly sledging. It has been a long but fantastic season of darts with twelve teams (forty-eight darters) competing each week. Darts are big in Boorowa and Binalong and hopefully all the venues have benefited from hosting the matches each week.

Presentation night will be at the Courthouse Hotel in early November so watch this space and the socials for more details. And for those darters who still need their weekly fix, social darts will begin at the Top Pub tonight and every Thursday night. Names in by 7.15 for a 7.30 start. You are guaranteed two games and a whole lot of fun. All standards are most welcome, just rock up. See you at the Oche.
